Creativity Support Tools (CSTs) seek to aid their users in various stages of the creativity process. This thesis explores a Co-Creative Human in the Loop (HITL) CST in conjunction with / as a vehicle for the exploration of a set of image metrics. These image metrics seek to provide a comprehensive analysis of design images, specifically digital quilt designs, by placing them in meaningfully descriptive and distinct positions of the design space implied by these metrics. Through this placement within a comprehensive design space, images may be compared to one another directly through distance measures. The result is a system that allows artists and observers alike to identify meaningful subsets of a larger body of work, for the purposes of arranging, curating, understanding, or appreciating the body of work. The successes and failures of this system are examined through a user study with both qualitative and quantitative results.
