MONDAY MAY 10 1948 Went to Chicago on the early Rocket. Spent 41/2 hours with Ned Dearborn and Rube Forney going over names etc for the Board of Directors of the National Safety Council. Rube Forney is writing and sending out the letter to the members of the nominating committee. Our Meeing will be June 14- Ned is to send me a letter so I can have the policy to tell the members as we will have to reduce the number from the present 73 to about 60. I suggested that Ned think about a sponsor group for the Farm Conference as Deere while they will give $7200 this year feel the support of this conference should be on a broader base and we would not contribute so much after this year. He said he would give the matter serious thought and try to work out such a plan Home at 8-
