THURSDAY OCT. 28 1948 Elise's birthday. She had fine letters from Lee, Bill, Kate, mother, Amy and Sissy. In afternoon Elise and I went to Josephson'swhere she picked out a pair of opal earrings as a present from me. Bill Cade here for supper. We tried out the device shown on page of September 17th for changing tread of tractor. Showed the job in action to Charley Stone.
