Image 456 of Theo Brown Diaries, 1946
Public DepositedTHURSDAY DECEMBER 26 1946 Bill and Helen Stone started to paint my portrait this morning at the Davenport Art Museum. Helen has wanted to paint a portrait with Bill for some time. Spent a good deal of time arranging a meeting with the National Safety Council to present our problem of the Dooley Safety Device. This device is not of any account according to the tests we have made. Dooley is trying to get laws passed by State legilatures to make his safety device compulsory. I suggested we present our problem to the Safety Council and it was thought to be a good idea, so I arranged with Maynard Coe to have a meeting next Tuesday. Budge Cook, Marvin Schmidt Wayne Worthington and I are to go and I asked Maynard Coe to have some head men who dictate policies to be present. I hope we can get the Council to sponsor a program to combat Dooley.
