154 THURSDAY, JUNE 3, 1926 Reached Chicago at 8 daylight savings time. Bought a pair of Hanan low shoes at 10 at Sherman House there was a meeting of about 50. Government Officials, State Agricultural men & Implement manufcturers. The meeting sponsered by the Government and led by O.C. Worthley of Milk St. Boston was for the purpose of seeing what can and should be done to control the corn borer. The borer now has reached parts of Ohio & Michigan to the west. The idea of the meeting seemed to be to sell the implement manufacturers the idea of designing some special machines to mechaniclally destroy these borers. Charlie Wiman & Dr. Taylor were both there and we all came home with the idea that Deere & Co must do something along this line.
