SUNDAY NOV. 14 1948 Elise and I went to church. Mrs Butter worth, Frank & Susanne Silloway were our guests at the Outing Club for dinner. Then Elise & I went to the EllaLanges 2406 Ripley St which Lee and Bill have just bought. We drew plans of the house. The house is really a good one with lots of room. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ good private firm to the country-own firms. It is a good prepared action. At first they imprison the head clerks and the owner, then they look for any reason to sentence these people After that they say the owner is a political criminal, so it was in the first years of Russian occupation. There- fore he is imprisoned so that the factory must be taken over. But the overtaking of the factory is not the worst, because my father thought it over when he was in the Western Zone four weeks ago - that it seems much better to go away from Leipzig and settle in the Western Zone. The worst of all is that he is impris- oned and if he comes out it will be sure that he goes t othe western zone. So Mrs Sack begs if you have someone acquainted in Berlin to let him know he will help Dr Sack for an airline ticket to the Western Zone in case of Dr Sack gets free. I write this to you as I am attempting to get my father out there at any rate. If you write please not to Mrs Sack directly but to my address or to Mrs Lessing via Berlin. I hope you will understand my letter, and find not too much mistakes, but I don't write such a good English like Dr Sack.
