Tuesday, March 5, 1940 All morning with Dreyfuss& Barnhart. Dreyfuss is to try to clean up the trademark without changing the design much. The Publicity seem to be against any change. Henry Dreyfuss has Elise + me +Dains for dinner at the 77 club. [Newspaper article:"MRS. BROWN PRESENTS FORTNIGHTLY PROGRAM" Mrs. Theo Brown presented an interesting review of Wilhelm Meis- ter (Johann Goethe) at a meeting of Fortnightly held yesterday aft- ernoon at the library. The club has made a study of contemporary European authors of the early Nineteenth century this year and the programs have brought out many enlightening facts. Of Goethe Mrs Brown said that he is the greatest of German writers and possessed one of the supreme minds of all literature. He was the most modern of the masters, there- fore the most complex in spirit, temperament and activities. Mrs. Brown pointed out that Goethe's writings constituted a wis- dom-literature of vast extent and constant significance in which every difficulty and problem beginning in the modern or scientific periods, is creatively commented on in terms which find an echo in every in- structed mind.]
