36904 SATURDAY SEPT. 24 1949 Louise Gregory invited us for breakfast which was awonderful help. We left Princeton at 7. Went to Barre then #122 to Petersham to @202 then from Pelham to Amherst thru 9 to Albany 104 miles. Syracuse at Mabel Todds 28 mi. Arriving at 3. Intermittant showers Foliage turning reds of maples superb. Took some colored pictures. Joe Butler came for dinner at Mildred's Princeton to Barre 14 miles " " Amherst 50 " " " Northampton 57 " " " Pittsfield 103 " " " Albany 140 " " " Syracuse 281 " I was amused to see this sign on a poor stretch of road on #20 near Springfield N.Y. [Drawing: Road sign] "Believe it or not this is US 20"
