Image 239 of Theo Brown Diaries, 1931
Public DepositedWednesday, August 5, 1931 Clear Left St. John at 8 this morning. We noticed many schooners left high and dry by the low tides. These tides are 25 feet We drove 86 miles to St Stephens where we crossed to the U.S. and Calais. We had no trouble at the border. We drove to Eastport where we had a lobster dinner at the the East Hotel. The Governor Dingley from St John to Boston stopped at Eastport as we were there. It is good to get into Maine. I love New England and it's sceenery. We drove to Bar Harbor Seal Harbor and spent the night at the "Rock End" at Northeast Harbor. Met Mrs Zantzinger We took a launch trip on the bay in evening. 245 miles today. [Photograph: S.S. Governor Dingley, Eastport Maine]
