With my development work for potato and sugar beet harvesting machines, I made a very good progress in the last season. We added to our line a new very simple and small implement for topping two rows of sugar beets, which can either be coupled to the beet harvester machine or separetly pulled by one horse. Topping is done very exact and without damage to the beet and without spilling dirt on the tops, which is very important because we need all tops for feeding our live stock or putting it to the silage. On the potatoe harvester we added a belt where stones can be separated from the tops. Before I finish my letter I wish you and your family a happy Christmas and a lucky New Year for 1949 with good health, Thanking you once more for all what you have done for me and my family in the past year and best recommendations to Mrs Brown Hans Sack P.S. as separate mail I send you a piece of our best "toilet soap" which we can buy here on ration coupons one piece every month. Try it and you will have an idea of our living standard.
