Sunday, February 27, 1938 Elise and I called on Alice and Ted Guyer this morning. Their father died yesterday 85 years old. Then we called on Lillie Huber who has been under the weather. She is still up stairs. She gave Elise a string of beads - blue lapis lazuli - and a bracelet similar to one she gave Lee. Dinner at the Blackhawk Hotel where we met Elises mother and Val Ilse. There is a scheme whereby on Sundays, two dinners for price of one for man and lady. Later we called on Mrs Wagner, whose husband Robert died on Christmas Eve.
