[Letterhead: TIOGO LODGE Mono Lake California] SATURDAY, JUNE 26, 1926 177 C.O. Reed told me that if we needed help on low cut binder E.A. Sliver who did the work for them atOhio would come over and spent a week or two to help us out. Write either McCune or Reed. The Louries and Elise& I left Tahoe Tavern at 10.36 A.M. for Yosemite in a Pierce which we hired. We drove around the lakes on the sides of the mountains past Mt Talbac getting (thru Carson Valey) near Carson City. We had lunch at Minden in a fertile valley. It was hot 95°or more. Then we wound out way thru the Nevada desert thru Bridgeport finally reaching Tioga Lodge at Mono Lake at 630 after coming down the side of a high mountain Came 149 miles. Mono Lake is 6500 ft above sea level. Mountain lions sometimes come down here. There are Indians around 95 miles to Minden the nearest railroad. We had tent houses, very comfortable. John D. Rockefeller had lunch a few minutes before us at Minden.
