WEDNESDAY JULY 13 1949 Part of letter written by Bill July 9th from Quiberon I'm in a small town in Brittany, on a hook of land off the southern coast to get a bit of sun and be alone for a few days, as I felt the need of just that, I'd seen too many people, and when I get back many more arrive. This coast very much resembles Maine, down tot he fishing boats and the nets stretched out along the shore. - - - - - I keep thinking of Dad driving through all these old Brittany towns, and what a big kick he would get out of everyting here. Many of these towns got back to Roman times, and have sections of almost every century since then left intack, its something to see. And the prices aren't too bad either. Ive got a hotel on the shore, plus 3 meals a day (and very good ones) all for less than four dollars a day. Now you can't beat that easily can you?
