SATURDAY FEB. 5, 1949 Kate writes Feb 2- Your letter and the enclosure from Jimmy Roche, were much appreciated. Mother listened to them with great interest and just now, when I asked her whether she had anything special to say to you, she said she did, but it was hard for her to put her mind on just what it was. Mother wnet into the living room yesterday for a few minutes. This sound like real pregress, and the nurse thinks it is, but is hard to see that she has really gained any strength. Beyond a few games of solitaire now and then she is not able to do anything except just lie in bed. On the other hand her appetite is excellent and she enjoys her meals. Her nurses are excellent. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Elise and I were hosts for the Birthday Club at the Arsenal Golf Club 19 present WE had Lee & Helen Stone as guests.
