CHYS 32347 1727 MON 6428 YR CHEV. 344 344 FRIDAY OCT. 1 1948 I went to Chicago on the 1030 Rocket going to the National Safety Council. Here I had a meeting with Maynard Coe and Ned Dearborn about the Warren Switch. This device advertised Aug 7 in the Implement Age is a switch that willbreak the electric circuit in a tractor when the tractor front wheels rise off the ground a predetermined distance. The claim is this will prevent a tractor from tipping over backwards. But the Dooley device has the same idea and we proved by tests that the fly wheel momentum will carry the tractor over every time. We don't like to see a device that will not function as claimed put on tractors for the operator will have a false sense of security. It was decided to send Hamilton to North Carolina to see the Warren people and ask to see tests and to explain to them wherein their device would not work. He is to take the movies of the Dooley tests and the report. We want To tell them in a wise way so that they can see the trouble. Home at 8
