Tuesday December 9, 1947 [Illustration: Calder by Steinberg] [Playbill: Annie Get Your Gun...] At a directors meeting of the National Safety Council at 1030 this morning lasting till after lunch. Next meeting will be in New York about the middle of April. Elise & Bill had lunch with Kakee. On afternoon Elise Bill & I went to the Buckholz Gallery 32 E. 57th St where we met Alexander Calder and saw his mobiles. Bill knew him and Calder said he would exchange a mobile for a painting Bill had. Then we went to Bills apartment. Bill going to Mrs Callorie for a party for Calder while Elise & I called on Louise & Mary Gregory 1100 5th. At 630 we met for dinner at Tildchens with Marie. Then Bill, Tildchen, Elise & I went to see "Annie Get Your Gun". It was wonderful.
