Saturday December 13 1947 [Letterhead: New York Central System] [Passenger's check: Worcester to Chicago] Mother Kate Elise and I had a fine ride this morning taking a picnic lunch with us. We drove around North Pond and then out Pleasant Street to Paxton where we ate lunch in the car by the side of the road. It was a delightful outing and mother enjoyed it as much as we did. The snow on the ground made the country lovely to look at. Elise and I left for Chicago on the New England States at 311 P.M. I was so glad to get this worcester visit in.
