Public DepositedSATURDAY MAY 8 1948 Elise Lee Pooh, Brother and I went on the Black hawk Hike this afternoon. The hike was in the Buda Woods near Scheffield nearly 50 miles from here. It was a beautiful hike through woods filled with wild flowers which we saw in profusion. We saw 24 different kinds of wild flowers as shown below Blue Eyed Marys Violets---purple and also yellow Flax 3 Trilliums yellow, white, red May apple Jack-in-the-Pulpit Dutchman's Breeches Oak Fern Wild Geranium Showy Orchid Horse Gentian Spring Beauties Maiden Hair Fern Buttercup Baneberry Bloodroot Bellwort False Solomon Seal Day Lily Turk's Cap Lily Ginger
