公开 DepositedThursday, November 21, 1940 [Headlines: War news] On train till 215. It is Thanksgiving Day in many parts of the U.S. but it is next week in Mass. We found mother and Kate waiting for us at the station. Phils funeral is to be Saturday morning at 11--- It seems that he realized the end was coming when on the train and called the Pullamn conductor and asked him to notify Marjorie and Ray Shaw. Also when we saw Marjorie she said Dr Albee said that it looked as thó Phil would not have lived but a short time anyway. Marjorie is bearing up wonderfully well. Majorie [??] and John are home and are splendid. We went to see Ruth. She naturally feels Phil's loss very deeply. Mother Elise & I went out to Princeton. Everythingabout the house and grounds were (in) applie order. Everythingwas so lovely in Princeton. We saw Ray Gregory and were going to call on The Peabodys, but found them out. Warm weather. We are urging mother to go back with us. [Newspaper clipping: Philip N. Curtis] [Headlines: Evening Gazette: War News]
