42 TUESDAY February 11 Clear [Signature: H.E.McCray - 2/11/30] here today. We spent nearly all day testing the braces (3/8 [?] ) to loose the wide tread tractor. These braces 9" from lower stud holes on chain houses to lower cap screw holding cent spring. Yesterday we made a measuring device for amplifying the distortion [Sketch: measuring device] We found the lift did not seem to distort on the act of cultivating. Transporting the cultivator was the hardest. We did not reach a decision as to whether the braces are effective or not. It looks as tho some framewould be necessary.
