Friday, January 21, 1938 Reached Chicago at 8:30 and left for Monine at 10. No snow here but fog and wet. Everything seems to be progressing alright here, but factories are on a four day schedule. My colored snow pictures are fine. Late in evening came a letter saying Miss Giles died suddenly yesterday of a heart attach. Elise unfortunately has a cold.
