Thursday, April 14, 1938 At a meeting all day of Power Machinery Dept. of Farm Equipment Institute. Frank H Harrison Manager of Works IHC Chairman of Farm Equipment Institute Safety Committee made a talk SAFETY ON THE FARM I am on the F.E.T. Committee with Kranick Ross & James. Harrison said that he is a Vise- President of the National Safety Council. There had been a real program undeway on Safety everywhere except on the farm. That there is much adverse publicity on farm accidents. That unless the industry does something of its own iniative to bring about safety, pressure will be brought to bear and it will be done for us. Everyone agreed that we should be active in this work and get our house in order ourselves. It may mean considerable work for me. It is thought the corn picker & power take off are the two most dangerous places. Home on the Rocket. Listened to Roosevelts Fire Side chat. It left me cold.
