Ther Sun. Dec. 31 1911 Wea Very cold. Slept late. Went to the apartment to see how things were. Hope that everything will be ready by next Saturday night. In afternoon went up to the Peeks to call & stayed all afternoon. Mrs. McCall was there. She Is very interesting as are the Peeks. It is a very pleasant place to go. It was been bitterly cold all day. Bed 9 This last year has been probably the most eventful one for me. I have left the East for the West, where the opportunity to do things is large. It almost means that I have changed from a boy to a man. It has been a year hard because of new work and because of the terrible wrench in leaving home and all those dear to me, it however has meant earning 21/2 times as much in salary.
