TUESDAY FEB. 24 1949 Pooh's 6th birthday. Lee asked us over for a birthday supper. The little girl looked so pretty in a special hairdo in curls. Elise & I gave Pooha suit case with her initials in gilt letters added. Elise gave her a house coat. Elise, Mary Mitchell (sister of Jack Couch) & I went to Civic Music to hear Eleanor Steber sing. She looked and sang exceedingly well.
