1st Hot day THURSDAY JUNE 5 1947 In field of corn this afternoon at Homewood farm. Unfortunately the power control on the tractor (From the Model M) failed to work after cultivating a few feetso we had to bring the outfit back to the shop. Elise and I were at the Golf Club for supper with Alice & Devore Simonson as guests of Rube Rosenfield (who couldn't cine as she had to stay home and take care of Fifi's baby. Later we all went to her house.
