SUNDAY JULY 27 1947 Pooh and I reached Chicago ahead of time before 8. We took a taxi to the Field Museum where Pooh saw the habitat animal groups, then to the Aquarium to see the fish and on the way to the station ran into a rehearsal of the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra in the Park. Took 11o'clock train to Moline. Alice has the house in fine order and our room papering is very fine and the refinished floors fine too. I went over to Edas, Walter was at the Country Club. Took a box of bluberries to Dot Priester & the Vollmers. Lee, Bill & Theo + a puppe arrived at 5 and Alice had a supper for us all. Gave Lee some blueberries. It is very hot and muggy here.
