Muscular disabilities result in weakness and inhibit mobility. Adaptations to the standard bicycle exist, but their functions are focused on therapeutic purposes. Therefore, the project goal was to create a fun and functioning modified children’s bicycle. This was validated through the assessment of functions, objectives, and constraints, as well as research and client outreach. Due to Covid-19, we selected two major components to focus on: the propulsion and turning mechanisms. The resulting product consisted of a working prototype that demonstrated the necessary functions. Recommendations include the material modification and safety improvement. The resulting appearance was also modified cosmetically to make it more desirable for children to ride.
