The machining tool industry is responsible for producing much of our world’s infrastructure and technology. Our sponsor, aliased as “Hardware Tool Company” (HTC) for their privacy, is a player in this industry, and they want to employ Data Science analytics and tools to gain insights about their competitors and the market landscape. With this project, our team continues HTC’s efforts in understanding their collected data and analyzing it to get a sense of competitor intentions. Specifically, we develop a framework with three deliverables to achieve this: (1) Continuing development and utilization of an SQL database that warehouses HTC’s data and their competitors’ data. (2) Using descriptive statistics and association analysis to procure interesting patterns in the data and to glean insights from the data. (3) Visualizing our results and findings with dynamic dashboards to display key takeaways and insights about our competitors, as well as uncover areas for further analysis.

• This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
