The objective of the Intelligent Appliances MQP was to develop an architecture for a smart appliance network that would provide for efficient and failsafe discovery and communication amongst devices. Using the specifications put forth in the architecture and through the implementation of a reference prototype, the project evaluated the design and workings of a typical appliance network. A review of the test environment was conducted and recommendations were made as to how to best improve the design for the future.
