Body image and magazines

Body ideals have changed throughout history and say a lot about the culture at that time. The main perpetrator of these ideals is the media, especially fashion magazines. The page layout and image choice of these magazines can adversely affect women's body image. Using this knowledge the ideals today, as set by the media, are evaluated. Two typical women's magazine articles are examined to illustrate this.
