Role of the re-writer in cultural theory of text

Public

This paper explores the unique role of the rewriter of institutional texts within the cultural theory of texts. The project employs ideas and theories from the fields of linguistic philosophy, natural selection and evolution, and contemporary rhetoric to discuss different qualities of institutionalized texts as well as the interactions between author and text. Three editions of the Boy Scout Handbook are used as examples of institutional texts.
