Lean production and inventory control: a prototype model for Priorclave
PublicPriorclave has potential to shorten throughput time, increase capacity, refine scheduling, reduce WIP, and meet customer specifications quickly without disrupting the flow of production. In order to illustrate this potential, a current state was established to benchmark against. Lean techniques such as kanban and JIT were then explored along with traditional manufacturing techniques such as MRP. Finally, a future state was developed to show a prototype system that uses lean and MRP techniques to achieve a throughput time of 2 days, and 50% reduction in WIP.
