Two degree of freedom automated prosthetic wrist

Public

This project addresses the need for better prosthetic technology through the development of a fully automated, two-degree of freedom (DOF) prosthetic wrist. Currently, powered wrist designs have only one DOF -- wrist rotation. Considering the task specifications developed by the project team and project sponsor, Liberty Mutual Research Center, a functioning, microprocessor-controlled prosthetic wrist prototype was constructed and tested.
