This proposed design for an upperclassman residence hall for WPI encompasses all aspects for the design process. This includes site, architectural, and sustainable design, as well as design of structural systems. The superstructure was designed primarily with structural steel but alternatives were explored in cast-in-place concrete design. Computer software was used as a design aid for floor plans and building design. Extensive additional research was completed on green design offering alternatives from conventional design and construction methods. A detailed cost analysis was also performed for the residence hall.
