Designing pavements using the mechanistic method

Public

The proposed AASHTO Mechanistic Empirical Design Software was used to simulate the design life of a typical pavement structure in Maine. The results from these simulations are used to determine the optimum binder grades, sources, and pavement structures to resist premature rutting and thermal cracking in cold regions.
