Elizabeth Bishop -- experiencing memory

Public

Elizabeth Bishop's exquisite ability to use her memories as a source for her writing is undeniable. The main focus of this Major Qualifying Project was the role her memories played in selected pieces. It also looked at the relationships between her prose and certain poems that also deal with memory. The final result is an analysis of the pieces as they pertain to this theme, as well as the circumstances that allowed Bishop to confront and examine these memories.
