Student Work
Non-Invasive Transmission Line Fault Identification and Location Detection
ÖffentlichThis project explores the theoretical application of a method of identifying and locating transmission line faults through the use of magnetic fields. Using Faraday's law and Ampere's law, this project demonstrates that transmission line faults can be detected and identified by category of disturbance. The voltage-current relationship established in electromagnetic field theory enables to monitor the line currents and detect a fault. This method can also be used to determine the location of the fault over the transmission line length.
