open in viewerThis project focused on improving the efficiency of Newton Square, a five street roundabout located in Worcester, Massachusetts; the team collaborated with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and other public agencies and committees. A turning movement count was completed at this intersection to determine the level of service, as well as simulations of how design alternatives would alleviate congestion were conducted. After analyzing the data collected, the optimal design alternative was determined to enhance the accessibility for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians.
