Worcester, MA is a very diverse community that fosters unseen talent within its underrepresented youth. However, much of this demographic does not have access to recreation centers where they can showcase and enhance their abilities. TLK Sports, the project’s sponsor, has the goal of creating a space where student athletes can develop their skills. Furthermore, they would like to provide members of the community with a recreational space. Through extensive research into past recreation centers as well as our sponsor’s requests, a 3D model was created to provide a visual for the overall design and bring the goal of TLK Sports to life. To supplement the model structural calculations, a cost estimate, and construction schedule were prepared. Each of these items were produced to assist TLK Sports in the process of acquiring funding for the design and construction of a recreation center for the Worcester community.
