The problem of drug addiction has been a serious threat to humanity and the economies, societies, and advancements of the world for quite some time. The objective of this paper is to focus on drug addiction in Madrid and on what smaller, less recognized group like Association BETEL, a religious organization in Spain, are trying to do for this worldwide epidemic. These organizations yield positive results yet the need for collaboration between organization and governments still exists. The research was conducted by acquiring knowledge and information by means of written material, websites, personal interviews and first hand experience of Spanish culture and life.
