Manual irrigation for home gardens is time and water intensive. Drip irrigation systems are more efficient but are often perceived as too expensive or complicated. This project promotes the use of drip irrigation systems in home gardens in Paraguay. To do so, interviews with local gardeners, a field experiment, and a demonstration were conducted at the Cerrito Agricultural School, run by Fundación Paraguaya, in Benjamín Aceval, Paraguay. The experimental system uses less time than manually watering, thus saving water. Instructional materials were created to share the assembly process and results to promote the use of the system. Continuing these experiments and demonstrations during the dry season will yield positive results for home gardens in the area.
