Infant heart monitor

Public

The goal of this project was to design and test the digital system of an infant heart monitor to support a study on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The system designed used a Motorola 68HC11 microcontroller to detect the heartbeat and a PCMCIA flash card to store data for later retrieval. While some parts of the system failed to work, results showed that a small portable device of this type could be built and manufactured for patient use.
