Due to the increasing popularity of cloud gaming systems, it is important to understand the effects of latency on users. This paper describes our experiments to determine the effects of latency on player performance and quality of experience (QoE) through player scores and subjective ratings from users. We found that QoE ratings and player scores decrease proportionally to the addition of latency. Our experiment design can also be used to control other network conditions like packet loss.
