Cost-value implications for design alternatives in a low-rise building

Public

This project analyzes the cost-value attributes of several design alternatives for a low-rise building. The group compared the relevant provisions from the International Building Code and Massachusetts State Building Code, considered different structural layouts, exterior wall systems, floor systems, and foundation elements, taking into account both lateral and gravity loads. The alternatives were analyzed for their impact on construction cost, schedule and function.
