Principles of Comprehensive Pedestrian Networks in a Multi-Layered City
PúblicoThe extensive multi-layered pedestrian networks of Hong Kong can be confusing to navigate due to their sporadic and uncoordinated construction. Through an extensive analysis of the walkability and connectivity in four chosen districts, a series of recommendations for improvement were compiled. We recommend an increased amount of consistent signage, prioritized handicapped accessibility, and preserved ground-level connectivity. If these recommendations were to be efficiently implemented, the pedestrian networks of Hong Kong would become considerably more comprehensive, leading to a higher quality of life for the region's citizens.
