Improving performance for disk heavy application

Public

This project defines a number of block caching algorithms which were designed to improve hard disk benchmark for the NVIDIA's nForce4 chipset. In order to test and analyze these algorithms, a simulation was built that modeled the performance obtained from real world operation of system components. Based upon these results, this project suggests promising implementations of a write cache and a read ahead algorithm, both of which were tailored to make use of the nature of commonly used benchmarks.
