BK channel phosphorylation state in ethanol

Public

The BK channel is a large, conductance calcium-and-voltage regulated potassium channel. Our Lab at UMass Medical School is interested in the effects that alcohol has on the phosphorylation state of the BK channels. This project focuses on the development of a protocol for determining the degree of phosphorylation in oocytes that have been injected with mRNA for the BK channel. To the lab's knowledge, there has been no prior attempt at surveying the states of channels in entire oocytes.
