Conceptual designs for a next generation Windjammer

Public

This project focused on developing the initial hull design and sail plan for a three-masted, traditional New England style coasting schooner to be used in the Maine Windjammer Fleet. A combination of traditional design methods, modern engineering techniques, and personal experiences gained from working in the fleet was used to achieve the goals set at the project's conception. The changing needs of the fleet are quickly outstripping the ability to adapt current vessels; this new vessel is designed around those needs and will be able to operate in the industry further into the future than its contemporary counterparts.
