Design of a dynamometer

Public

The goal of our project was to design a dynamometer using capacitance sensors, to be attached to a CNC milling machine that measures dynamic forces of the three axes and the torque about the Z axis. Using our devise the dynamic forces that occur during the milling process can be studied and optimal specifications such as spindle speed and feed rate can be determined. Dynamic and static condition tests were performed to compare our device's performance to industry standards.
