Reduction of pesticides in the Norwalk River Basin

Public

This project determines the potential sources of pesticides and conducts a qualitative study of those pesticides in the Norwalk River Basin, in Connecticut. Using ARCView GIS and Microsoft Excel as supplemental tools, analyses are performed to draw correlations between pesticide concentration data, precipitation data, and land use distribution. Plans for reduction or control of the pesticides in the basin have been developed and are recommended to the United States Geological Survey for assistance in the National Water Quality Assessment Program.
